When the forest is healthy, the Wren has a home.
Wildscaping Our Neighbourhood Society is restoring native habitat in Burnaby by removing invasive plants and replanting the forest with species that belong here.
A local forest is coming back to life
For years, invasive species crowded out native plants. The forest floor thinned. Habitat disappeared. With volunteer effort and community support, that story is changing. We are rebuilding the understory, restoring biodiversity, and creating habitat for wrens, owls, pollinators, and all the life that depends on a healthy woodland.
